Joint Mixer with Irvine Chamber of Commerce (July 26,
2007)
Over 100 businessmen in Orange County attended an annual
networking event organized by the Orange County Chapter
of the Hong Kong Association of Southern California (HKASC)
- the largest Hong Kong association in the U.S.A with almost
650 individual members. The event was held at the Doubletree
Irvine Spectrum Hotel located in the heart of Southern California's
Technology Coast on Thursday, July 26, 2007.
Dennis Lee, chairperson of the HKASC Orange County Chapter,
was pleased that the event created exciting opportunities
for members to meet and network with others with international
business interest as well as the local business community.
The event was co-operated with one of the largest chambers
in Orange County, Irvine Chamber of Commerce and supported
by many local trade organizations such as the American-Chinese
CEO Society, Asian Business Association of Orange County,
Asian Business League of Southern California, Orange County
Chinese American Chamber of Commerce, and National US Hong
Kong Business Association (NUSHKBA).
Joined by Ms. Wendy Zimmerman, Vice President and Branch
Manager of HSBC, Dennis Lee drew a few of the lucky attendees
who won raffle prizes from a roundtrip air ticket between
Los Angeles and Hong Kong plus a land tour, courtesy of
Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Tourism Board, to gift
baskets donated by the supporting organizations.
Representing the event sponsor, HSBC, Ms. Wendy Zimmerman,
was presented with a Gold Sponsor appreciation plaque by
HKASC president & NUSHKBA vice president Raymond Cheng
for the company's contribution and support to both the HKASC
and NUSHKBA. In addition to HSBC, Christopher Leu, immediate
past chair of of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations
Worldwide as well as a successful entrepreneur, was also
acknowledged for his keen support of all programs and activities
in relating to promoting international trade between Hong
Kong and the U.S.A and his generous contribution to the
NUSHKBA and its activities.
Raymond Cheng also shared on the development of the HKASC
including its upcoming programs such as the China and Hong
Kong Trade Mission in October 2007, and the next annual
general members' meeting will be held at the Pacific Palms
Conference & Resort, City of Industry, on Thursday,
September 14, 2007.
