Joint Mixer with Irvine Chamber of Commerce (July 26, 2007)

Over 100 businessmen in Orange County attended an annual networking event organized by the Orange County Chapter of the Hong Kong Association of Southern California (HKASC) - the largest Hong Kong association in the U.S.A with almost 650 individual members. The event was held at the Doubletree Irvine Spectrum Hotel located in the heart of Southern California's Technology Coast on Thursday, July 26, 2007.

Dennis Lee, chairperson of the HKASC Orange County Chapter, was pleased that the event created exciting opportunities for members to meet and network with others with international business interest as well as the local business community.

The event was co-operated with one of the largest chambers in Orange County, Irvine Chamber of Commerce and supported by many local trade organizations such as the American-Chinese CEO Society, Asian Business Association of Orange County, Asian Business League of Southern California, Orange County Chinese American Chamber of Commerce, and National US Hong Kong Business Association (NUSHKBA).

Joined by Ms. Wendy Zimmerman, Vice President and Branch Manager of HSBC, Dennis Lee drew a few of the lucky attendees who won raffle prizes from a roundtrip air ticket between Los Angeles and Hong Kong plus a land tour, courtesy of Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Tourism Board, to gift baskets donated by the supporting organizations.

Representing the event sponsor, HSBC, Ms. Wendy Zimmerman, was presented with a Gold Sponsor appreciation plaque by HKASC president & NUSHKBA vice president Raymond Cheng for the company's contribution and support to both the HKASC and NUSHKBA. In addition to HSBC, Christopher Leu, immediate past chair of of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide as well as a successful entrepreneur, was also acknowledged for his keen support of all programs and activities in relating to promoting international trade between Hong Kong and the U.S.A and his generous contribution to the NUSHKBA and its activities.

Raymond Cheng also shared on the development of the HKASC including its upcoming programs such as the China and Hong Kong Trade Mission in October 2007, and the next annual general members' meeting will be held at the Pacific Palms Conference & Resort, City of Industry, on Thursday, September 14, 2007.
