Karen Han & Friends in Concert (November 5, 2005)

 

 

 

At the beautiful state-of-the art Harriet & Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex at California State University of Los Angeles, along with over 1,000 music lovers, HKASC members enjoyed a spectacular Saturday evening of performance presented by the renowed erhu soloist Karen Han. Other celebrated guest performers included Composer Missa Johnouchi, Flute Player Hideyo Takauwa, Percussion, Arranger and Sound Producer Hideo Funamotom, the Hiroshima Jazz Band and Pianist Katherine Chiu.

Karen Han is an internationally renowned Erhu virtuoso who has performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, London Royal Philharmonic and other prestigious orchestras worldwide. Her performances can be heard on the soundtracks for The Joy Luck Club, The Passion of the Christ, Mulan II, Anna and the King, The Last Emperor, and the soon to be released, Memoirs of a Geisha.
