Hong Kong ImaginAsian Delegation Brings Business Opportunities (Jan 2005)

Mr. Stewart Ballard, U.S. Chief Commercial Consul in Hong Kong, led a delegation of Hong Kong film production, distribution, and finance companies for the ImaginAsian Hong Kong Film Industry Promotion networking breakfast, held January 20, 2005, at UCLA. The event was co-organized by the U.S. Commercial Service of Los Angeles.

The event came in the wake of the revival of the Hong Kong film industry, with record box returns of 'Kung Fu' and "Inferno Affairs" last year. It also marked the first time that Hollywood movies came second in box returns after domestic productions (including Hong Kong) in cinemas in China in recent years. This well-attended networking breakfast was part of the ImaginAsian Film Industry Trade Mission that took place January 20-21, 2005.
