Chinese New Year Gala Celebrates Year of the Golden
Boar

Spirits were high as over 630 Hong Kong Association
members and guests filled the Universal Hilton ballroom
for the 15th Annual Chinese New Year Gala Dinner.
Commencing the Year of the Golden Boar, the Gala Dinner
marks one of the most anticipated and celebrated events
of the HKASC calendar.
Association President Raymond Cheng opened the evening
by extending thanks to Corporate Banquet Chair United
Commercial Bank and Entertainment Sponsor HSBC Bank
USA. Cathay Pacific Airways and the Hong Kong Tourism
Board were also acknowledged for providing the event's
grand door prize of a roundtrip airfare to and sightseeing
tour of Hong Kong.

In addition to the traditional Chinese ceremonial lion
dance presentation, Gala-goers were treated to special renditions
of classic hits by the Fab Four, the ultimate tribute band
to The Beatles. Also on the evening's program was performance
by East Wind Troupe's Lion Dance.
Keeping with the Chinese New Year spirit of giving, guests
received specially designed crystal boar, mugs, and sponsors'
goodies in commemoration of the Gala.
